Dr Platon Cold Plasma Device

Dr Platon is a professional device, with a very powerful cold plasma output. This next-generation, high-frequency system uses innovative cold (non-thermal) plasma shower technology to convert the primary gases in the air between the device tip and the patient’s skin (mainly Oxygen & Nitrogen) to non-thermal plasma, at a temperature of 35-40 °C.

The device offers practitioners 3 interchangeable plasma tips, which are all ceramic to ensure optimal conductivity.

The impact of cold atmospheric plasma on the skin can be summarised as follows:

• ACNE –  For acne and oily skin, plasma is extremely effective in targeting P. acne bacteria, quickly reducing skin inflammation, soothing the skin, and balancing sebum production. It is one of the gentlest ways to help reduce the appearance of blemishes (including teenage acne) and is suitable from 12 years and over (with parental consent).
• PROBLEMATIC & IRRITATED SKIN – The oxidative stress of cold atmospheric plasma has an antioxidant impact on the skin’s immune system. It reduces the damaging effect of chronic skin diseases – such as atopic dermatitis, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis and seborrhoea – which manifests in inflamed, irritated, dehydrated, and rough skin.
• STERILIZATION – The electrical voltage between the freely charged particles in plasma (electrons and ions) causes the cell membranes to disintegrate, accelerates the self-destruction mechanism of skin cells, and causes cellular division. The damage caused to DNA actually creates a “disinfection” process – the destruction of bacteria and fungi and the self-destruction of inflammatory cells and other damaged cells. This process also raises the level of free intracellular oxygen.
• SKIN REGENERATION & ANTI-AGEING – Cold plasma therapy triggers the division of the basal cells to stimulate epidermal regeneration, boosts production of new collagen, stimulates the formation of new blood vessels and assist in healing wounds. It also strengthens skin immunity and the epidermal barrier and improves intercellular communication.
• DEPIGMENTING – The atomic oxygen in atmospheric plasma oxygenates the melanin in the epidermis, and is therefore effective in lightening epidermal brown spots (whether hormonal pigmentation, age spots, sun damage etc). This process is especially effective for hyperpigmentation under which an inflammatory process takes place. By reducing the inflammation, the plasma also reduces the level of haemoglobin around the spot, thus reduces blemish.
• BOOSTS ABSORBTION – Research shows that plasma increases epidermal permeability in the first 12 hours after treatment by ~24%. Therefore many facials for all skin types can incorporate a Dr Platon plasma treatment to boost results and improve absorption of active ingredients.
