Curcumin neutralizes the activity of the tyrosinase enzyme, thus inhibits melanin synthesis, which leads to depigmenting.
Curcumin also has anti-inflammatory properties – It can penetrate the skin cells, repair damaged cell membranes, and restore their selective permeability.
Finally, curcumin is an antioxidant, five times more powerful than vitamin C – It stimulates the intracellular production of Glutatheion, which is crucial for preventing damage to essential cellular components.
