Electroporation and Iontophoresis for Skin Restoration
The dual Electroporation and Iontophoresis function is a highly effective method of introducing active substances into the dermis to repair and restore the skin and boost hydration in preparation for radio frequency. Using controlled electric pulses, electroporation opens temporary micro-channels in the epidermal barrier. While iontophoresis ‘pushes’ ionic solutions into the skin tissue and increases skin permeability. Combining these 2 technologies together enables maximum absorption of actives into the deeper skin tissue. This can also be combined with a skin heating and cooling function (-20°C – +45°C) to stimulate fibroblasts and generate new collagen. Or used individually depending on the therapeutic goals. Radio Frequency for Skin Regeneration
The Apollo Duet RF mode employs advanced multipolar Radio Frequency technology which emits radio frequency currents, pulsing through 4 flat electrodes to heat the water molecules in the dermis, up to a temperature of 42°C. Heating and maintaining that constant temperature for at least 5-6 minutes:
- Causes coagulation of the Collagen 1 fibers (the main protein fibers in the skin). The contraction of these fibers results in a firmer and tighter skin.
- Stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and induces generation of hyaluronic acid for smoother, plumper skin.
- Improves blood circulation, which rehydrates the outer skin layers and results in a better skin tone.
The built-in temperature sensor in the RF handle allows practitioners to safely control their patients’ skin temperature in real-time, adjust the treatment accordingly and ensure the target skin temperature is maintained for the duration of treatment. In addition, the Apollo Duet RF handle emits red light (630 nm), for an extra anti-aging effect.
